Australia’s gold

Australia’s gold

(The gold rush how the aboriginals were involved)

Aboriginal mining

Do you have aboriginal didn’t have an interest in the gold but quickly learned that the the English colony’s did.

They usually used in mind greenstone for axes and weapons like Spears.

Scientific racism

Phrenology is the science that determines people’s personality’s based on the lumps on their head. The colonies scientists were very interested in phrenology and wanted to study the aboriginals. Lots of aboriginals died so that the scientist could study their skulls.

The native police were the first police in Ballarat ever. Like any policeman they enforced the law. People describe them now as beautiful. They wear a blue coat blue hat and have some horses to ride on.

My totally not real face ( for short Avatar)

My totally not real face ( for short Avatar)

This is my avatar

what I think what I think resembles me most.

First the black hair. Well there’s not much to explain, I have black hair and eyebrows. Most of my family say there hazelnut so I picked the one that looked like hazelnut. I chose this nose because it resembles my family nose, it’s always big and weird and oddly shaped so I chose the the biggest one they had. I chose this mouth because I’m always trying to smile  but everyone knows that doesn’t always happen.

Anyway this is my avatar if you have any questions please ask my life is dull and boring so please comment. (o – o)

Library reflection- term 1

The genre of books I like is family and friendship and humour books. Usually the books I like to  read have a character that has a disability and struggles with every day life, I like seeing them overcome those disabilities and having a good ending but with humour books I just like having a giggle.

A book I would recommend would be fish in a tree I recently just bought the reason I know this book is because it was the class novels in year four and I really enjoyed it. It is about a girl called Ally who is dyslexic and struggles to stay out of trouble while she can fool many others her teacher Mr. Daniel has a idea.

For book chat I am reading Saving Winslow I have already finished the book and must I say I loved it. It was funny yet serious. If I had a choice I would read it again. It is about a boy and a donkey Louie is a animal lover and will take anything into his care but so far all pets have ran or past away so this time Louie was determined to save Winslow his LGD little grey donkey.

My first month in year five

My first month in year five

So far I’ve had lots of laughs and made new friends. I’ve caught up with old friends too. (My teacher is also super nice which is a bonus)

Our focus for this term is Building learning power, for the home tasks I have to learn how to juggle, so far my best is 15. You might think that this score is good for two weeks but one of my friends has done 303 in a row.

Another new thing we have in year five is APS it is sports thing we do on Wednesday and on Thursday. Wednesday 26th we had the triathlon my time was 15.55, I was pretty proud, then they had the second triathlon which I did not compete in because I was so tired.

Book chat this year has been ok I’ve read some books that I like and I’m ready to read some more. We’ve also been assigned a book list so I’ve got some good books.

Three words to describe my year so far is: fun, knowledgeable and colourful

My natural disaster diorama

This is an explanation of a tropical storm you may know it but just with another name like hurricane, typhoons and cyclones. In the video I try to explain how it is caused and its effects. I hope it is up to standard.

War (the card game)

War

Only two people can play at once.

You will need: a pack of cards.

    1. Take the kings, queens, jacks and jokers.
    2. Half the deck and give half to you partner and yourself.
    3. You both flip your top card and add them and say it out loud, it can work for multiplication and double cards (you flip two cards(works for addition and multiplication)).
    4. If you get the answer right you get the pair.
    5. Once all cards are finished you count up the cards and whoever gets the most wins
